I was born in Seattle Washington and have lived and traveled throughout the United States. (I was a military brat.) I have lived in California for the last 30 years. Now I am 1 1/2 hours from San Francisco and 2 1/2 hours from Yosemite Valley, so day trips are frequent to both locations for photographing.
I became serious about photography about 20 years ago. I have taken many classes and workshops. I have also taught photoshop classes. My favorite media is black & white photography. I love the impact of a good black & white image. My other favorite thing is working on my photoscans. I call these, Nature up Close. I worked on my technique for six months before I got results I was happy with. I am always changing my methods to fit the leaf or pod I am working with. I like to experiment and play with all of the bells and whistles, so photoshop is an ideal environment for my work. However, I do like to keep my images looking realisitc so I try to keep the filters and special effects to a minimum.
